Again a bit dated but still an excellent read. Those hedges are just plain terrifying! I’m somewhat conflicted about the father’s character (Jack) as no doubt you’re supposed to be. I have a hard time feeling sympathy for him; he’s too angry from the start before they even get to the Overlook. Perhaps if he’d been a gentler man to begin with I’d find it easier to put the blame on the Overlook like Danny & Wendy. Still a great book though and a horror classic. My first re-reading since I was a teenager and I really enjoyed it. [audiobook] A little advice for those that also listen to audiobooks… don’t fall asleep with this one playing LOL!
